Refugee Resettlement
For the past two years HAPHI and its partners have provided social adjustment services to refugees in their quest of adjustment to a new country. Services include community orientation and education, assistance accessing mainstream services (such as Food Stamps, educational resources, housing, medical care, job training, and mental health – among many others), interpretation and translation, and client advocacy. Several agencies also offer ESOL, citizenship classes, youth and after school programming, job training and placement, and cultural preservation activities. HAPHI provides family support and assistance to promote adjustment and economic self-sufficiency, such as with housing, fuel assistance, education, day care for children, and referral to mental health, medical and legal services. Translation and interpreting services for refuges in targeted communities.
